The chaos engulfing the office chairs at the offices of President Donald Trump’s transition team has the potential to turn deadly.
The chair in question, a black, white and red chair from Ikea, is among the chairs being used by members of the Trump transition team as they make the rounds in the White House.
Trump himself has been seen in one of the chairs with the chair in his office.
According to a statement from the Ikea Group, the chair has a built-in alarm system that will be activated if a person touches it, and an internal alarm will be turned off if a user doesn’t.
A tweet from Ikeas spokesperson read, “The chair is safe, but we do have an internal battery that is activated whenever someone touches it.”
A spokesperson for the U.S. Secret Service said the agency “does not have any information regarding an incident with an Ikea chair.”
According to the spokesperson, the Secret Service does not provide the names of the people who are authorized to be in a particular location and can’t provide further details about the incident.
Trump, who has a large number of office chairs on his private property, has been photographed with his aides in them at various times throughout the day.
Trump has been pictured with his staff in several of the black and white chairs and one white chair in particular, and he has also had other members of his transition team use chairs at various events.
On Wednesday, the president’s team held a meeting in a small meeting room of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in Washington.
According the Washington Post, a person in the room told the reporter, “He was holding up his chair, and it looked like he was going to do the handshake.”
